Spin.AI Announces Acquisition of DoControl to Deliver Comprehensive SaaS and AI Security

Combination pairs DoControl's AIgovernance and SaaS DLP with Spin.AI's security posture management, browser security, and cyber resilience capabilities

Adding DoControl's powerful DLP and AI Governance capabilities gives security teams an even clearer view of identities accessing data and how it's moving within SaaS and AI.”
— Dmitry Dontov, CEO of Spin.AI
PALO ALTO, CA, UNITED STATES, August 31, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Spin.AI, a leading SaaS and AI security company, today announced it has acquired DoControl, an Israeli based cybersecurity company. The acquisition combines two complementary approaches to securing SaaS and AI environments into a single, broader security offering for both companies' customers, and extends Spin.AI's protection, which already spans more than 2,000 organizations worldwide, into new areas of SaaS and AI risk.

The two companies' strengths are complementary rather than overlapping. DoControl's automated data access governance and data loss prevention lead the way it protects SaaS environments. Spin.AI's platform is built around SaaS security posture management (SSPM), browser and extension security, and ransomware resilience, the areas where its SpinOne and SpinCRX products lead, alongside its own data loss prevention capability. Together with both companies' work on insider and non-human identity risk, and Spin.AI's ransomware and cyber resilience capabilities, the combined company now covers five distinct layers of SaaS and AI risk: access governance and DLP, SaaS security posture management, browser security, insider and non-human identity risk, and ransomware resilience.

"We built Spin.AI around the idea of addressing SaaS and AI security in layers, each reinforcing the others. Adding DoControl's powerful DLP and AI Governance capabilities gives security teams an even clearer view of identities accessing data and how it's moving within SaaS and AI. Together with our Posture Management, Browser Security, and Data Resilience offerings, we will provide real defense-in-depth for our customers," said Dmitry Dontov, CEO of Spin.AI.

"DoControl and Spin.AI share the same ideal customer profile, the same vision, and, most importantly, the same DNA, which is what made this fit clear from our first conversations with Dmitry and his team. We built DoControl organically to serve some of the best-known brands in the world, and I'm proud of what our team accomplished to get here. With Spin.AI's platform behind us, our customers get a broader set of capabilities without any change to the product or the team they already know," said Omri Weinberg, Co-Founder and CEO of DoControl.

DoControl brings a track record of measurable customer impact. Vox Media used DoControl to identify and remediate excessive sharing permissions across 20% of its SaaS documents, automating employee offboarding and enforcing least-privilege access without adding headcount to its security team. StackAdapt reduced public and external asset exposure by roughly 75% while completing more than 55,000 automated remediations within 90 days. DoControl was named to The Forrester Wave: SaaS Security Posture Management, Q4 2023, and its research on non-human identities, including findings that automated systems now generate the majority of activity on platforms like SharePoint and OneDrive, has become a widely cited reference point on an emerging category of SaaS risk. Spin.AI, for its part, protects more than 2,000 organizations worldwide, is rated 4.8 out of 5 on G2 across 127 reviews, and operates a risk assessment engine that has evaluated more than 550,000 browser extensions and applications.

The acquisition builds on the continued backing of K1 Investment Management, which announced its investment in Spin.AI in March 2026 to support its growth as a SaaS and AI security platform. K1's support was instrumental in bringing today's acquisition together.

Existing DoControl customers will see no change to their product, their site, their contracts, or their support team, and no migration is required, and the same holds for Spin.AI customers: this acquisition simply adds more capabilities to the platform they already use. DoControl's team continues to lead its product roadmap, now backed by Spin.AI's broader bench of security and product engineers, and customers can expect the same dedicated support from the same team they know today, with a product that only gets stronger from here. Spin.AI and DoControl will operate as independent brands for the foreseeable future, each continuing to serve its own customer base without disruption.
